Lugano 2020 Study Abroad

My junior year, I left for study abroad in January, originally intending to stay until May 2020. We were evacuated in March 2020 from Switzerland. This video chronicles the weekend trips and week-long breaks we had before the world stopped for awhile.

Although my trip was cut short, I still got the chance to visit Florence, Château-d'Oex, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Venice, Nice, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Tallinn, and many more cities throughout Europe.

My 2017

This marked a monumental year for me. I graduated from high school, had prom, went to beach week, embarked on a two-week Japan trip with my family, visited Thailand for two months, and started my freshman year at Virginia Tech.

Looking back on all these moments sparks a lot of nostalgia, and that's exactly why I film and make these videos. Sometimes, it's easy to forget certain points in your life, and we forget to stop and take a breath. My 2017 is one of my favorite films to watch back.

Fujikawaguchiko Trip 2017

During our 2017 trip to Japan, we stopped in an onsen town called Fujikawaguchiko. Located around Lake Kawaguchi and in the foothills of Mt. Fuji, it was the perfect spot to stop for a relaxing couple of days. My family and I explored the onsens in town, ate an ice cream after every bath, and biked around the lake in the rain.

We also hiked to the top of a viewpoint, where we waited for the clouds to clear. Luck was on our side, and I was able to catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji a few times during that trip.

Skyline Drive

Living near a national park definitely has its perks. For spring break one year, my friend and I decided to make the drive to Shenandoah National Park. The weather was still freezing, but that meant that we basically had the whole place to ourselves.

We drove along Skyline Drive, hopping out of the car at viewpoints along the way. The winding roads paired with the mountain view made it a trip to remember, and we saw the sun set from behind the trees. Definitely worth the drive!

Sorority Recruitment

Gamma Phi Beta at Virginia Tech Promotion

In college, I was a member of Gamma Phi Beta. I became the Social Media Chair freshman year and Public Relations Vice President during my sophomore year. A part of my role as PRVP and in Gamma Phi was creating a series of videos for recruitment.

This promo video showcases the people in our chapter and our sisterhood. These recruitment videos are a mix of footage that I filmed during our events (like Girls on the Run races) and videos that our members would send in.

Gamma Phi Beta at Virginia Tech Bid Day

Other than the promotion, sisterhood, and philanthropy videos for recruitment, I also created videos for all the events throughout the year. Bid Day was one of the most exciting because we got to introduce new members to our chapter.

For our 2019 Bid Day, the theme was GRL PWR (fitting for an organization that focuses on building strong girls). This video shows a more laid-back, fun feeling and was a nice way to look back on the months of hard work we'd spent on recruitment.
